About the Shop

The transformation of the Happy Hippie Shop....

We are located in Astoria, OR at 333 W Marine Drive,

(under the Meglar Bridge, across from Kentucky Fried Chicken).

Owned by husband and wife piercing team Josh & Vanessa Gonzales

the Happy Hippie Shop was ready for business after three weeks of renovations

done entirely by themselves!

Here is the photo journal of our creative vision brought to life....

from filthy to eclectic hippie!

The main room was pretty scary, especially the mysterious carpet stains.

However, we can't in all honesty say we did it ALL by ourselves.

We felt lucky to have "Jubilee" working with us from day one.

In this picture you can see her working hard.

We begged and begged her to take a break, she just wouldn't listen. :)~

The piercing room was a project and a half.

The floor had to go right away and the wood-wall was a serious eye sore.

We wanted a clean, sterile feel, but steered away from white

and went with purple to maintain the funky, colorful, energetic feel

to match the rest of the shop.

Despite all our hard work the bathroom is what we consider the true masterpiece.

Unfortunately the picture above was taken after the

filthy, black sink and toilet were removed.

Josh removed the floor and replaced the fixtures

all in under a week....what a gorgeous job!
